KHACHMAZ AND YALAMA COASTLANDS
The Caspian coastlands in the northeast of Azerbaijan
are famous for their beautiful landscape including forests
and beaches. It also offers important mineral and termal
water wells, some of them containing sulphuric hydrogen.
The Yalama zone's most important towns are Khachmaz
and Khudat. Khachmaz is also known for its archaeological
sites where ancient tombs dating from the Bronze Age
have been discovered (1st millennium B.C.), an exposition
of which can be seen in the historic museum of Khachmaz.
